Welcome to Greenways Aces
Greenways Aces is a Chartered Standard Football Club based in Gravesend. The brand “The Aces” was founded in 2004 in dedication to the late Jason “Ace” Gill.
Supported by the Kent FA, Kent County League, South East London & Kent League and the Kent Youth League which is also partnered by Gillingham Football Club. Greenways Aces are proud to say that we offer the highest quality of football coaching to all, regardless of their ability.
Our philosophy of inclusion, progression and player development has seen our club grow dramatically over the past year. We currently have almost 300 members from the local community involved with the club, with ages ranging from 3- 67.
We currently boast four ex-Professional players and UEFA B qualified coaches, who head the training sessions for all age groups, thereby also guiding our other coaches to continually develop and improve. Every coach is FA qualified and CRC checked.
We continue to develop links with numerous professional football clubs and to date we have had players represent West Ham Utd, Crystal Palace and Millwall. Our plans to provide 16-18 sports education programs have generated a huge interest in the area, giving young people a chance to pursue a career in the sport we all love.
If you are interested in joining the fastest growing club in Kent, be it as a player, coach, referee, supporter or just as a general helper do not hesitate in making contact with us.
In the past year, we have financed over thirty training courses, producing FA qualified coaches, child welfare specialists and referees.
Greenways Aces are proud to hold the Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) status, which is a true recognition of the work that we are doing for the community. We are a ‘Not for profit’ Club and all income is re-invested into the running of Greenways Aces.
Our club has also been awarded Chartered Standard status for ten years running. This shows the efforts we have made to place every person involved with the running of the club, through the necessary courses.
This requirement (such as FA coaching, First Aid, Safeguarding Children) and all personnel involved have been DBS checked.
Greenways Aces have a healthy committee responsible for the day to day running of the Club. The Committee consists of a Club President, Club Chairman, Vice Chairman, Club Secretary, Club Treasurer, Welfare Officer, Media Officer, Grants Facilitator and Head Coach.
The committee members come from a wide range of backgrounds, all with their own skills and specialist knowledge which ensure an excellent base for any club.
Additionally, the club also has a full Sub-Committee responsible for fundraising, arranging events, advertising, running the kitchen, arranging tours and any other business.
Greenways Aces FC is a Gravesend based Football club consisting of, for the current season, 23 League teams ranging from under 7’s to adults. We also have non-league “Mini Aces” for children under 6 years old.
However, the club continues to grow and has attracted many children and adults to the club. For the forthcoming season 2020/21, the club may consist of between 24-30 teams.
With over 300 players involved with the club, enjoying the current usage of the facility. This number is also sure to grow during the offseason when players will attend our free open trials run by ex-professional players / UEFA B Coaches.
Our philosophy is to promote health and well-being through sport for all and as such we have grown to exceed 300 members of the local community involved with our club, age ranged from 3 years old to 67 years old.
As stated above we are currently an FA Chartered Standard Club supported by the Kent FA, the South East London and Kent League, the Kent Youth League and the Kent County league (which is partnered by Gillingham FC).
We currently hold CASC status, which means we are bound by law to: “promote amateur football (and/or other healthy amateur recreations) by providing facilities to promote education and community participation by reference to sport. In all cases, the club must exist for the public benefit of the local public”
Our teams include adults, school-age boys and girls, pre-school children and children with disabilities and learning difficulties. All benefit from coaching from our UEFA and FA qualified, CRC checked coaches.
We also offer support and assistance to local volunteers who wish to get involved with the club in a non-playing capacity and have to date financed over 30 training courses producing FA qualified coaches, Child Welfare specialists and Referees.
Our club is very much a family club set up in memory of the late Jason “Ace” Gill. Greenways Aces Football club has been running for 16 years and has in this time gone from strength to strength.
We are becoming one of the largest Football Clubs in North West Kent. All players of all abilities are welcome and all are supported.
Our club grows by the month due to the excellent coaching provided and our club philosophy that football should be enjoyed by all.
This is regardless of ability, and we find ourselves taking on players who have been turned down or dropped by other clubs. Each individual’s player development is of utmost importance.
We have recently taken on the lease of our Home ground at Old Southfields, Cedar Avenue, Gravesend, Kent, DA12 5JT and have plans on the ground development.
This includes a 3g pitch, an extension to our current building to incorporate a Clubhouse, Classroom, Gymnasium and a Function Room.
